What happens when you scan it?
vCard is the common language of contact apps. A business card QR carries name, phone, email, company, title, website and address in vCard format. When scanned, the phone opens the “Save contact” screen with the details filled in.
You don't have to fill in every field; only the first or last name is required. Empty fields aren't added to the code, so it doesn't grow unnecessarily.
The information is written into the code, so no internet is needed: it works at a trade fair, on a plane, even in a basement with no signal.

For best results
- Write numbers with the country code so people abroad save them correctly too.
- On a printed business card the code should be at least 2 × 2 cm; if space is busy, 2.5 cm is recommended.
- For frequently changing details (title, company), you'll need to print a new code to keep the information up to date.
- If you also want to share your social media accounts, a link page (dynamic) may be a better fit.
- Print the code at least 2 × 2 cm; make it bigger as scanning distance grows (about 1/10 of the distance).
- Use a dark pattern on a light background. Some phones can't read inverted codes.
- Don't crop the space around the code; the quiet zone is needed for readability.
- Send SVG to the printer; as a vector it stays sharp at any size.
- Test the final print file with at least two different phones.
