Text QR
A serial number, short instructions, a secret message… A text QR carries the content inside the code itself; you don't even need the internet to scan it.

What happens when you scan it?
In a text QR, everything you write is embedded in the code as is. The scanner's phone shows the text on screen; they can copy it, share it or search for it.
The content never goes to any server, so it works completely offline. That makes it ideal for warehouse labels, instructions on machines or sites without internet.
You can write up to 2000 characters; but the longer the text, the denser the code and the harder it is to read in small print. Short, concise text gives the best results.

Where is it useful?
What do you fill in?
The fields you'll see in the generator. You can leave optional ones empty; empty fields aren't added to the code.
Ready in four steps
- 1Write the textType the note you want to show; line breaks are preserved.
- 2CollapseRemove unnecessary words; shorter text means a simpler code that's easier to read.
- 3DesignChoose high-contrast colors; on labels a dark pattern on a light background works best.
- 4Download and pasteDownload SVG or PNG for your label printer.
For best results
- Accented and non-Latin characters (é, ñ, я, 中…) are supported; however, ASCII text is safer for some older readers.
- If the text exceeds 300 characters, consider using a content page (dynamic).
- Don't write secret information (passwords, personal data): anyone who scans the code sees the text.
- On small labels leave the error correction level at M; the code will be less dense.
- Print the code at least 2 × 2 cm; make it bigger as scanning distance grows (about 1/10 of the distance).
- Use a dark pattern on a light background. Some phones can't read inverted codes.
- Don't crop the space around the code; the quiet zone is needed for readability.
- Send SVG to the printer; as a vector it stays sharp at any size.
- Test the final print file with at least two different phones.
FAQ
Text QR
What happens when a text QR is scanned?
The phone shows the text as a preview. Some cameras don't show it directly; in that case Google Lens or a QR reader app can be used.
Can I use emoji?
Yes, emoji and accented or non-Latin characters are encoded as UTF-8. Still, each emoji adds a few bytes to the code.
Can I edit the text later?
If you saved it to your account you can edit it and download a new code; but the old printed code will keep showing the old text.
