What happens when you scan it?
The windshield QR carries your phone number, your car's make/model and color, and a short note. When you create it without an account, the details are written into the code as plain text; no internet is needed and the person scanning can tap the number to call you.
If you save the code to your account, it becomes a car card: the person scanning lands on a page with Call, SMS and WhatsApp buttons. You can change your note (like “Back in 5 minutes”) and your number from your dashboard anytime without reprinting the code, and switch the card off whenever you like.
The license plate is optional. Adding the make and color is usually enough to show the code belongs to your car.
To reach the owner of this car: Phone: +15551234567 Car: Toyota Corolla · White Back right away, feel free to call.

For best results
- Place the code on the inside of the windshield, in a corner that's easy to scan from outside.
- Print on laminated or glossy paper so it doesn't fade in the sun.
- Write “Scan to reach the owner” next to the code.
- If you saved it to your account, download the QR to print from your dashboard; a code downloaded before saving is static.
- Print the code at least 2 × 2 cm; make it bigger as scanning distance grows (about 1/10 of the distance).
- Use a dark pattern on a light background. Some phones can't read inverted codes.
- Don't crop the space around the code; the quiet zone is needed for readability.
- Send SVG to the printer; as a vector it stays sharp at any size.
- Test the final print file with at least two different phones.
FAQ
Windshield QR
Can I change the note later?
Yes, if you saved the code to your account: change the note and number in your dashboard and the printed code stays the same. The details in a static code downloaded without saving can't change.
Will my number be public?
Anyone who scans the code can see your number. You can switch off a saved car card anytime; while it's off, your number isn't shown.
Is the internet required?
A static code works offline. A saved car card is a web page, so it needs internet.
